GIVEAWAY, BLOG TOUR and INTERVIEW - Crazy Dreams by Dawn Pendleton

Blurb:
Stone Tucker has big dreams. Someday, he wants to be on a country radio station. Flash forward to reality, and Stone isn’t any closer to his dream than he was months ago when he left his high school sweetheart and hometown in Pennsylvania to move to Nashville. Every one back home thinks he’s going to fail, and unfortunately, Stone has started to believe it, too.

Enter Ember Daniels.

Ember lost her dad years ago in a car accident, and more recently, her older sister to leukemia. She’s had her fair share and then some of heart break and needs to get away from the modeling life her mother has been pushing on her. A summer trip to Nashville is just what she needs to find herself. She isn’t prepared for Stone, with his hot body and overall indifferent attitude toward her.

One night can change everything, and with seemingly endless summer nights, Ember and Stone both discover exactly what they’re looking for.

Interview with the Author:

1. When and why did you begin writing?

I’ve always been a writer. I started when I was 15 years old. I lost my dream for several years and when indie publishing came into play, I knew I had to at least try it, just to see if I could do it.

2. When did you first consider yourself a writer?

At a very young age – Writing has always been a part of me. I finished my first novel at 17, but thankfully, that book will never be published!

3. What inspired you to write your first book?

I read Reckless Magic by Rachel Higginson. I really liked it and looked Rachel up. When I saw she self-published, I realized maybe I could, too. So I started to research and figure out the self-publishing world. That was almost two years ago.

4.  How did you come up with the title?

I generally have all my titles picked out almost a year ahead of time. At the very least, six months. But Crazy Dreams was a title that just sort of fell on me a few months ago. I knew who I was going to write about (a character from my Broken Series), but the title just popped into my head one night. Generally, that’s how they all come – in the most unlikely situations.

5. Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

The message of Crazy Dreams is to follow your dreams, no matter how unrealistic they might be.

6. Are experiences based on someone you know, or events in your own life?

The actual plot is not based on me or anyone I know, but the theme of not giving up – that’s something truly real in my own life. Being an author is hard work, and I wouldn’t be here if I’d given up last year.

7. What books have most influenced your life most?

The classics are always influential, but every single book that I’ve read has influenced me, even if only a little. Books are what dreams are built on.

8. If you had to choose, which writer would you consider a mentor?

Definitely Rachel Higginson. She’s tolerated my incessant stalking the last two years, which is pretty amazing. Authors are some of the best people I know!

9. What book are you reading now?

I’m currently between books right now. *eyes kindle* There are a couple I want to start, I just haven’t had the time.

10. Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?

Every new author grabs my interest, especially since I’m pretty new, too. I only published just over a year ago…

11. Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

Julie Garwood. Her historical books have been a favorite of mine since I was thirteen years old. She really draws me into her books, making me forget who and where I am.

12.  Who designed the covers?

Sharp Designs! She’s amazing!!

13. Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

I LOVE READERS! And I sincerely hope they love this book as much as I do.

14. Do you prefer fuzzy or tub socks?

Fuzzy. I buy the aloe socks, which are so soft on my feet!

15. Are you a person who makes their bed in the morning, or do you not see much point?

Most days, I make the bed. I never used to, but a few years ago, I despised it. I guess I’m officially a grown up now or something.

Thank you so much for having me!!!

Dawn Pendleton is a new adult author who began her writing journey in New England with her husband and their pup, though she now resides in Georgia and promptly became a Southern Belle (or so she likes to think). When she isn't staring at a blank page, willing the words to jump from her head to the screen, she's usually playing on her iPhone, reading a book, or taking pictures with her fancy camera (which she has no idea how to use).
